These are NOT new. These are old. These are Feves and santons. Small figurines that are used in French Christmas celebrations. The French word feve means "bean". Feves can be used as dollhouse decorations or cake toppers. SANTONS - The word santon comes from the Provençal word santoun, which means "little saint". Santons are clay figurines that are used to create nativity scenes. Santons became popular during the French Revolution when churches were closed. Santons are used in homes and schools. There are two types of santons: unique pieces that are modeled by hand and series santons created using a mold. Santons are a local art in Marseille. Santons are a must for Christmas in Marseille.
